DemocraticYouth.net is a project of the Eastern European and Eurasian young people who attended a seminar in Chisinau, Moldova in September 2006. Its organizers were the American Council for Young Political Leaders, the International Republic Institute and the National Democratic Institute.  The seminar was underwritten by the United States Agency for International Development, USAID.  The seminar's purpose was to bring together young political leaders from several Eastern European and Eurasian countries to share best practices, enhance their leadership skills and create an online community as a way to remain in contact with one another.

You may read the content of www.DemocraticYouth.net without registering.  However, if you wish to post your own material you must register.  The site will ask you for a username and, if you wish, a screen name.  It will also ask for your e-mail address.  It does not ask for your real name or your postal address, does not ask what country you are from, and does not collect any demographic information such as age.

Once you have registered for the site it will recognize you and log you in for your subsequent visits, as long as you are using the same browser.

If you register for the site you may receive periodic updates on our activities by e-mail. We will do our best to respect both your time and attention. You may unsubscribe from these communications if you wish.

If you post a message on the site those words become part of DemocraticYouth.net.  In exceptional circumstances posts can be erased, if necessary.  You would have to contact the site administrator to make that request.

Aggregate data about the use of the site such as the number and length of visits, number of posts per user and other measures will be kept and will be available to our Web site vendor for the purpose of administering and operating this Web site.

Children

You must be at least 13 years old in order to use DemocraticYouth.net. If you are under 13 years of age, please do not sign up for the site and do not provide your e-mail address. If we discover that we have collected any information from a child under the age of 13, we will remove that information from our database as soon as possible.   Visitors between the ages of 13 and 18 must obtain permission from their parents or guardians before providing any information on this site.
